Devolution Project Website Launched

Sept. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Devolution is a new start up company which aims to provide a production, marketing and distribution service through its website, http://www.devolutionproject.com to up and coming graphic apparel designers. Launched on 09/23/2013 the website provides people who are looking to start their own graphic apparel brands and were previously priced out of the market by high start up costs with a low cost alternative. Once produced their products will intially be sold via Devolution's online store, which will launch on 10/08/13, with the long term goal to become a place for retail store buyers to visit to source up and coming brands.

The process of launching a graphic apparel brand is expensive, having a sample produced by a factory is usually more expensive than buying an identical item at full retail price, this cost is usually refunded if the item goes into production but the designer is then faced with having to meet the minimum order quantities for that factory, which for a small brand with between 6 and 12 designs could run into thousands of dollars to put into production. The designer will then have to build or have built a website and pay for all the costs associated with creating an online store. Then comes marketing which is an additional cost and if they are looking to sell their products wholesale to retailers they will most likely need to attend tradeshows which again can cost thousands of dollars, most of the buyers at these tradeshows will not pay any attention to them until they have been in attendance for multiple years as they will not risk having unfulfilled orders due to a start up company being unable to deliver or going bust before the delivery date or just be unwilling to take a chance on an unknown brand.

Each year students are graduating from college with aspirations of starting their own companies and finding themselves priced out of the market by the high start up costs, or hoping to work for established companies as designers or artists only to find that despite having a degree in the relevent field they are unable to find work as the entry level positions all require at least one years work experience!

This is where Devolution comes in. We are offering a low cost entry to the market by offering our service for the same cost as they would pay for an item at retail. This one time low fee covers the production of each item they wish to have produced, the product is then marketed and sold through our online store, the designer will then receive 50% of the profits on each unit sold after the production cost has been deducted. The other 50% to be retained by Devolution to cover all of the business administration, marketing and distribution costs.

The difference between Devolution and other companies currently in the marketplace which offer a percentage of sales and free submission of artwork is two fold. Firstly the amount earned by the designer on, for example a graphic T-Shirt is approximately 7 times greater through Devolution than offered by existing companies and Secondly and possibly more importantly Devolution is a brand building tool. All of the items produced will be tagless, each designer will therefore be able to have their own branding printed inside the apparel making them the only identifiable source for the apparel, their brand name will be shown on the website and shoppers will be able to search for items by their brand name. Their brand will also be used in all marketing undertaken not that of Devolution.

The benefits of Devolution should speak for themselves, any designer or artist could start a graphic apparel line with 12 pieces for less than $300, enabling them to establish their brand name and build a customer base. With such a low start up cost this service is the perfect tool for students looking to move into the apparel industry upon graduation, should they wish to start their own companies they will hopefully have earned enough money from sales to enable them to do so or should they wish to seek employment they will have the experience necessary to qualify for the entry level positions as they will be able to demonstrate that have been through the process of both branding and design, are able to show products they have brought to market and hopefully successful sales data.
