Sept. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- "scott says"greetings music fans and welcome to my exclusive music entertainment blog our topic today is concerning the down turn of gainful full employment  for musicians living and working here in las vegas and across america this problem exist in the states of arizona and california as well as many other states in america.so with this being said lets you and i  take an indept look at the state of musicians living here. it depends on who one talks to within the music entertainment industry one thing is certain for sure and a fact a lot of musicians seeking employment within the music entertainment las vegas is considered  the entertainment capitol of the world.  however in reality it is experiencing the worse downturn ever witnessed.frist of all lets take a serious look at the profits thats being made on wall street since the bail out of banks and wall street these corporates have seen huge profits with no end in sight however with all this postive good news for business none of these profits have been passed down to the average working americans  working musicians .who have mirgrated from all across america and around the world and continues to make vegas there destination by seeking employment in las vegas night clubs, lounges and hotel casino resorts .in the old days when tourist came to vegas they was treated to top knotch quality live entertainment back in those days you had real aunthenic live entertainment here until the lost of the the musicians unions the good ole boy network at the local hotel casinos made sure that they kept the unions out of good paying jobs at there properties and rejected the musicians union members rights to collective  fair wages for the rendering of there musical services it was therefore replaced with canned music that in effect shut out live musicians from any solid wages and today that trend continues throughout the live las vegas entertainment music industry.sure there are musicians working inthe city of  vegas the reality is that they are being pimped and paid lower wages for there services due in part to corporate greed. and the entertainment directors, who has the power, to change things refuses to do so. because they have fat pockets themselves ..take for example say that the resorts books a live band for there venu through a booking or talent agency who lets say has his or her own production company with a roster of signed acts they book the acts through the hotel casino and pays them via there company the checks is therefore made out to the production company.the production company rapes the wages skimmed them and of course grease the pockets of these dishonest entertainment directors, the production company who in turns pays the band thats hungry for work lower wages for there services. and on top of thatthe booking agents collects and deducts booking fees up to 15%or higher from the musicians .is this legal yes  however but please keep in  mine that most  local musicians want complain because if they contact the irs who would audit these dishonest people books they the complaining musicians  would be blackball of obtaining any future work within the entertainment industry.so they keep there mouth shut and keep on getting fuc---by these greedy money hungry demons. The bar owners lounges and night clubs is no different .most local owners hires a band to perform at there venu, and usually pays the band say 5 peole the amount of $250.00. for the whole band thats $50.00 per man now keep in mine they dont spend any money for advertisement for the bands events. the owners feel that the band must advertise and bring  there own crowd now. lets dig a little deeper into this .most of the owners at casinos lounges and bars have slot and gaming along with drink and food  sales just think just one of there regular slot players pays the $250.00 or more for the band. while the owners pays the $250 plus his food and drink sales .and with this profit from the backs of the local musicians he complains that he aint making any money but yet his doors is opened for business you can visit most strip resorts and witness huge visitors that spend there money at these places. and the business owners  continues to complain that they arent making money either but still chargers outstanding rates for hotel room rates to  the tourists. if they are losing so much business then how one may ask can these ass holes stay in business. need i answer this i think not its self explantory. its can be called greed. another example was that most of these venus require bands to play five hours instead of four 50 minutes sets for the same wages which in my opinion economic slave labor.i was recently asked by many of my music fans why i dont perform live anymore my answer was simple because i have paid my dues and see no reason why i cant be paid a decent wage for me and my music staff i didnt spend 50 historical years within the music industry to be insulted. Its not that i dont want to perform thats not the problem i just want to be treated fair its a choice if you go shopping at a food market and your budget calls for a certain amount to spend and you cant afford the price of your favorite steak you have the option of buying the cheaper cut of meat ect well thats the way i feel the many fans that i attract dont mind paying to see me perform because they know that iam worth the price..then there are some that complains about possible racism well those of you that know me personally knows that i dont play the race card however there is some alarming facts thats needs to be address. today las vegas strip employment for black african americans is at an all time low. its as though blacks played no part in americam music history at all yes black music is being performed and played on these stages the only differences is there arent any black faces or musicians is this racism? ill let  you decide the facts speaks for itself does the city of las vegas downtown  freemont experience projects musical diversity lets take a close look if you visit the entertainment roster of acts performing on the fremont experience downtown you want find one band or musicians of color on stage what you will find downtown is rock bands and one will ask is this the true diversity of las vegas i think not .is this the image that we as an international city should be projecting i think not my point is that there is nothing wrong with rock acts i like hearing rock n classic rock music  but in my opinion there should be blues,r&b,soul, country, rock n roll and reggae musicians on that stage which reflects the vast diversity of the las vegas music community.stay tune for more in upcoming blog soon any feed back or suggestions concerning this topic fell free to contact me with your postive motivated thoughts until later scott says is signing off best wishes and many cheers
