PRLog -- Pako Pablos, an internationally recognized contemporary mixed media portrait artist, will be featured during a solo art show and public exhibition of his latest works to comemorate Hispanic Herritage Month. The event will take place at Sevilla, a premier club in the heart of the city’s Gaslamp District, on Friday, September 20. “The recognition Pako is gaining in the art world and the attention he is receiving from an influential audience speaks for itself. We are thrilled to host an artist with a talent appreciated by many and with the committment he has shown to promting Latino artists,” said Obed Cruz, Market Director at Sevilla. “The celebration of Hispanic Herritage Month provides a great opportunity for us to show our support for the community and for a contemporary artist whose modern approach to his work shows such promise.” Featured in the exhibit are new portraits created to honor prominent personalities and popular Hispanic icons like Machette actor Danny Trejo; Mexian boxing champion Canelo Alvarez; Grammy Award winning singers Vicente and Alejandro Fernández; and legendary soccer coach and former player, Diego Armando Maradona. Also on display will be portraits featuring well known sports figures, artists and performers as showcased in recent exhibitions and on Pablos’ European promotional tour held earlier this year. Most recently, Pablos’ sold portraits have been presented to well-known performers like Xzibit, American rappers Tyga, Waka Flocka Flame, E40 and Dricky Graham. Other notable pieces include portraits for television personalities Brian Malarkey, Mario Lopez and Chuy Bravo; movie and television stars like Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston, Emilio Rivera from Sons of Anarchy fame and Tommy “Deebo” Lister; skateboarding champion Tony Hawk and MMA flghting champion Dominick Cruz, among others. About Pako Pablos Known for his contemporary style, mixed media artist Pako Pablos is recognized internationally by industry and social icons for his stylistic approach. From world class athletes to cutting edge musicians and entertainment figures, his artistic commentary on pop culture through the use of digital art, painting with acrylics and the creation of images in pastels is gaining widespread exposure and popularity. Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, Pablos showed an early interest in artisanship, winning awards in state youth art shows for his drawings and paintings. Growing up, his career initially focused on his talents in basketball, playing in tournaments until after college, eventually becoming a center and power forward for his country on the National team. Following his athletic career, he moved on to do print and runway modeling before eventually choosing to pursue his true passion for the arts. He now lives and works in La Jolla, CA, drawing and painting in his studio overlooking La Jolla Cove, just outside of San Diego.
