Cuvee's New Certified Sommelier, Wine Specialist, Third Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2013

Pamela Wellborn CS, CSW, partner and proprietor of Cuvee in Destin, achieves Certified Sommelier & Certified Specialist of Wine from the Court of Master Sommeliers & the Society of Wine Educators, Cuvee nabs third Wine Spectator of Excellence Award.
 
DESTIN, Fla. - Sept. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Destin, Florida - Chef Tim Creehan's Cuvee Bistro is proud to announce that partner and proprietor Pamela Wellborn CS, CSW, is now the restaurant's official Certified Sommelier and Certified Specialist of Wine.  Certified by both the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Society of Wine Educators, Wellborn oversees the restaurant's extensive wine list of more than 200 selections designed to complement Creehan's award winning cuisine.  Under her direction, Cuvee's wine list has just been awarded its third Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2013.

The Certified Sommelier (CS) qualification by the Court of Master Sommeliers is the primary certification for wine and beverage professionals in the Hospitality Industry and is intended to provide a meaningful qualification for working Sommeliers. The examination recognizes beverage professionals whose knowledge, skills and demeanour are worthy of the title Certified Sommelier.  Wellborn obtained the official CS post-nominal title on August 10, 2013 in Washington D.C.

The Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) Exam is a rigorous test of a candidate's wine knowledge and mastery of key elements within the worlds of viticulture and wine production.  Obtained June 14, 2013 in Charlotte, NC, Wellborn's certification by the Society of Wine Educators is widely recognized and regarded by the international wine and spirits industry.  Specific topics tested include: Physiology of Taste, Wine Composition & Chemistry; Faults; Viticulture & Enology; Labels, Laws & Wine Regions; The U.S. Wine Industry; Wine's Contribution to Health; Wine Etiquette & Service; Food & Wine Pairing; and Responsible Beverage Alcohol Service.

From Alexander City, Alabama, Pamela Wellborn acheived her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama. Serving 20 years as a Registered Nurse, she also owned Wellborn Forest Kitchen and Bath in Alexander City, operating in design and product development. She serves on both the Women's Philanthropy Board and the Advisory Board of Human Sciences of Auburn University, as well as Impact 100 of Northwest Florida.  Wellborn has been partner and proprietor at Cuvee for 3 years along with husband Tim Wellborn of Wellborn Musclecar Museum in Alexander City.
