By: The CWC Group The Forum is recognised by the industry as the premier meeting for top level Ministry and NOC representatives, high ranking officials from international oil companies and potential new market entrants, to discuss the strategies that will drive forward Libya’s rich hydrocarbons sector. Dr Nurri Berruein, Chairman of NOC Libya, will be giving a keynote speech at the opening of the Forum. Focusing on building a sustainable future for Libya from its oil and gas industry, Berruein is expected to comment on new opportunities in Libya’s oil and gas sector, future production targets and the Government’s short, medium and long term plans for the industry, including the much anticipated Petroleum Law Review. In an interview ahead of the Forum with CWC, Berruein commented; “The Committee is still working and expected to publish their findings [of the Petroleum Law Review] soon.” He added that in the new licensing round “companies can expect attractive commercial fiscal terms founded on the basis of mutual interest, win-win relationships and maximizing partnership values.” In addition to NOC Libya, industry experts from major IOC’s and service companies will provide insights into working in the Libyan oil and gas industry. Jay Pearson, Vice President, Business Development – IES at Petrofac will take part in a discussion panel on how NOC’s can play a part in forming a new petroleum regime in Libya. Furthermore, Adriano Mongini, Senior VP North Africa & Middle East Region, Eni and Ferdinando Rigardo, Regional Executive Director Europe, Asia & Africa, Repsol, will discuss the requirements in technology and the human capital development needed to meet Libya’s future production targets. The Libya Forum is recognised by the industry as the premier meeting for top level Ministry and NOC representatives, high ranking officials from international oil companies and potential new market entrants to discuss the strategies that will drive forward Libya’s rich hydrocarbons sector. The first Libya Forum was a landmark meeting when it launched in September 2012 as it was the first major gathering of the oil industry in the new Libya and drew together senior delegates from across the oil and gas value chain in Libya.
