Follow on Google News | Arizona Raft Adventures' New Hiker's Discovery in 2014Arizona Raft Adventures and Grand Canyon Discovery are now offering another Hiker's Discovery trip in the 2014 river rafting season.
By: Arizona Raft Adventures and Grand Canyon Discovery The Hiker’s Discoveries are specially designed to offer the grandeur and excitement of rafting the Colorado River through Grand Canyon, while also allowing ample time to hike the many magnificent trails and side canyons along the river. Surrounded by nature and all of its glory, guests will hike through sandstone slot canyons and up onto plateaus allowing for panoramic vistas, to ancient sites and historic granaries and to creeks with breath-taking waterfalls and turquoise water. Arizona Raft Adventures’ goal is to pull together 18 participants with previous hiking experience and a common interest to hike. Every guest should be in good physical condition and looking for several hiking opportunities. The trips are staffed with enthusiastic, upbeat guides who love to hike and will keep a quick pace on the trail in order to get the most out of each day. New in 2014, Arizona Raft Adventures will offer a Hiker’s Discovery trip on a 10 day Motor Adventure, which means guests will have the opportunity to see the full 226 miles of the Colorado River through Grand Canyon in 10 days. The ultimate excitement of the Hiker’s Discovery is the amount of hiking this trip option allows. It is specifically scheduled in April when the cooler weather permits longer hikes. The Hiker’s Discovery is offered in four different trip lengths: both the 10 day full canyon Motor Adventure and the 16 day full canyon Classic Adventure—a combination of oar and paddle rafts—begin and end in Flagstaff, Arizona and run 226 miles of the Colorado River through Grand Canyon National Park from Lee’s Ferry to Diamond Creek. The 7 day upper canyon trip runs the first 89 river miles and the 10 day lower canyon trip runs the second 137 miles. The upper and lower canyon trips both involve hiking the Bright Angel Trail – a world famous and very strenuous Grand Canyon 7.5 mile hike. Arizona Raft Adventures (https://azraft.com/ End
