Follow on Google News | Cool Treats Vending set to bring TurnKey Corrections and Three Square Market to AustraliaCool Treats Vending, the premier vending company in Australia, has partnered with TurnKey Corrections and Three Square Market to bring their corrections and micro market technology to the Australian market.
By: TW Vending "This realizes a long-term goal we had in bringing our services and technology to other parts of the world" said TWV CEO Todd Westby. "The industries we operate in are global markets and we knew our technology had opportunities in other parts of the world. In addition to an upcoming movement in to Canada, this move in to the Australian market is a large step forward for us" added Mr. Westby. "We researched technology in several international markets over two years We met with the TurnKey and Three Square team and learned about their corrections technology plus viewed some of their active jail operations in Minnesota" said Cool Treats CEO Stephen McGowan. "We were blown away by the advances their systems had compared to the competition" Cool Treats Vending operates a number of businesses throughout Australia including vending and food service management. One of the few vending companies that services nationwide, Cool Treats expects to use the TurnKey and Three Square technology in many of its' existing government and commercial environments. "Given we are nationwide, we will be able to grow services at our existing clients, service the corrections market nationwide, plus be a distributor to other vendors for this technology" added Mr. McGowan. TurnKey Corrections provides a kiosk system that facilitates inmate commissary, video visitation, e-mail and trust accounting plus provides facilities access to a law library, paperless messaging system and indigent inmate purchase controls. "Our system provides multiple avenues for revenue growth, expense control and efficiency gains and it is all done on one kiosk" added TWV Vice President Patrick McMullan. "Rather than multiple units and companies for all these solutions, we have a system that has mastered them all and it will take Australia from a first generation system to fifth generation technology in short order" added Mr. McMullan. Cool Treats will operate all of the sites in both arenas and rely on TWV to support the technology and supply the kiosk equipment. Three Square Market (32M) is essentially a convenience store located in an employment setting where customers use 32M's proprietary self checkout kiosk. "This is new in the Australian market" added Mr. McGowan. "After looking at it and how this will impact our vending operations, we are excited to be implementing this in some of our sites. We will define micro markets in the country and with all the kiosk types, smart phone applications and back end inventory management offered by 32M, this takes our company to a whole new level of service". Cool Treats expects to open its' first markets in the third quarter this year. Using a self checkout kiosk and 32M's Scan, Swipe and Go process, customers can check out in a matter of seconds. The micro market adds hundreds of products to a break room that operators typically were losing to the convenience store across the street. "We now provide employees with not only additional products, but healthy and take home products that traditionally have never been available in a vending environment" "Cool Treats is going to pioneer this type of service in to the Australian market" added Mr. McMullan. "We are going to use our global supply chain partners, including Kekai Express in Hong Kong, to provide a faster and more cost effective solution for providing equipment and products to Cool Treats". While kiosks will still be manufactured and shipped from the U.S., TWV will be increasing its' product base coming from its' global partners that Kekai facilitates to better serve its' international and domestic clients.
