FORT COLLINS, Colo. - June 11, 2013 - PRLog -- IBMC College received approval today, from the Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), to add the Dental Assisting (http://www.ibmc.edu/dental-assisting-school.asp) Diploma Program to the curriculum at the Fort Collins and Longmont campuses.

"IBMC College is exited to expand our program offerings to members of our local community. We look forward to the opportunity of partnering with area dentist offices and medical employers to place our skilled dental assistants into rewarding healthcare careers." Mitch Thomas, COO, IBMC College

This program will train students to become Registered Dental Assistants (http://www.ibmc.edu/dental-assisting-school.asp) in as little as 15 months. Students gain the skills needed to work alongside dentists on chair-side procedures and perform clinical and administrative work through small class sizes and individualized training in the on-campus dental labs at both the Fort Collins and Longmont campus locations.

Coursework offers hands-on classes in dental assisting techniques, dental sciences, dental materials, dental radiography, specialty practices, office management and training in Dentrix Dental Software.

Students will complete a 5-week externship, consisting of 160 clinical hours – providing learners with real world experience. And as an additional benefit to the program, IBMC College’s Career Services Team works with local employers and students to provide job placement assistance.

Upon successful completion of the Dental Assisting Program (http://www.ibmc.edu/dental-assisting-school.asp) and passing of the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification exam, students will graduate the program as Nationally Registered Dental Assistants, also certified in CPR, First Aid (Adult, Child & Infant), Automated External Defibrillation tactics (AED) and licensed in Bloodborne Pathogen Training.

Financial aid is available to those that qualify.
