IBMC College's School of Cosmetology in Longmont Adds Beauty Services Clinic

The construction of a 3,500 square foot beauty suite is underway at IBMC College's Longmont campus location, where services in hair, skin and nails will be offered to the public at a discounted rate.

LONGMONT, Colo. - Sept. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- The City of Longmont has granted permission to IBMC College of Longmont to begin construction of a 3,500 square foot Student Beauty Services Clinic at the campus, as part of the School of Cosmetology (http://ibmc.edu/programs/cosmetology-school/), located at 2315 North Main Street.  The approval was granted in August of this year.

Thunderpup Construction officially broke ground on August 25, 2014 and plans to complete the addition by November 12, 2014, while IBMC College is set to open the Beauty Services Clinic to the general public on November 17, 2014.

“IBMC College’s School of Cosmetology has had a tremendous response from employers, prospective students and client guests.  Our phone continues to ring with activity from all three of these groups,” stated Steve Steele, CEO, IBMC College.

The Student Beauty Services Clinic will consist of two beauty career training classrooms, 20 hairstyling stations, three pedicure stations, three nail technician stations, two esthetician rooms and a skincare training classroom.

In the Clinic, students will perform hairstyling, coloring, cutting and other services.  Esthetic procedures include facials, waxing and makeup applications, while nail services encompass manicures, artificial nail applications and pedicures.  These services will be available to the general public at a discounted rate.

While locally owned and operated IBMC College has been in the Northern Colorado community since 1987, the College began enrolling students in the newly introduced Cosmetology Diploma program in June of 2014 at the Longmont campus.

As prescribed, the Cosmetology program does take 14 months to complete.  Students start off by learning hairstyling, esthetician or nail technician services in the classroom, followed by direct clinical experiences on mannequins and the general public in the Student Beauty Services Clinic.  They rotate through the three main areas of hair, skin and nails during their coursework.

The corresponding course material, followed by direct hands-on learning, prepares students for their new career and provides them with the competence and confidence to succeed.

Mark Walker, Campus President at IBMC College in Longmont is looking forward to the potential the Cosmetology program and Beauty Clinic brings to the Longmont community.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to offer this new program to students, discounted beauty services to the public and provide local employers with skilled, ready-to-work Cosmetology graduates in the near future,”  he stated.

A 12-month Hairstyling Certificate program, six month Esthetician Certificate program and six month Nail Technician Certificate program will be offered in the Spring of 2015 at the Longmont campus.
