DENVER - May 31, 2013 - PRLog -- DENVER, Colorado -- May 31, 2013 -- In a world where increasing your social network is just a ‘like’, ‘join’, or ‘follow’ away, there’s something to be said for traditional, face-to-face networking. Fans of the popular Energy Industry Happy Hour know this well -- about once a month, the Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) (http://www.iecrm.org) hosts a free networking event for electrical and energy industry professionals who support merit-shop ideals. In 2013, IECRM held three Energy Industry Happy Hours in downtown Denver, north Denver, and in downtown Boulder.

This year’s Energy Industry Happy Hours have attracted a large mix of electrical contractors, renewable energy companies, energy and electrical suppliers and distributors, construction staffing companies, and other types of businesses that compete in the local energy market.

“There’s nothing like a strong, sincere handshake to get a conversation going,” said Kristin Kim Haynes, Director of Operations for IECRM. “Our contractors, general contractors, and industry businesses always make time in their busy week to show support, which, in turn, develops their business relationships. We’re expecting to sell out another one of our events, the GC Forum: Money Matters!”

The next major networking event for the energy and construction industries is the GC Forum: Money Matters, a dinner and panel discussion featuring five key general contractors: DTP, GE Johnson Construction Company, Gilmore Construction, Kiewit Colorado, and PCL Construction. The five panelists will discuss bidding, estimates and the trickle-down effect (partnerships, products, purchasing, etc.), collections, and other hot topics. The GC Forum is co-hosted by IECRM and the Hispanic Contractors of Colorado (HCC) (www.hispanic-contractors.org), and will take place on the evening of Thursday, June 20th, at The Tailgate Roadhouse in downtown Denver. Tickets for the GC Forum are $45-$55 and can be purchased online: https://www.iecrm.org/events/2013-gc-forum-money-matters/
