The rise means that April’s figure of £27,172 is just £140 short of the £27,312 total seen in February 2013, which marked the index’s highest average since its records began in 2010. The annual change in travel job salaries was even more pronounced with a 14.97 per cent rise, although the three-month average figures (which commonly produce a more reliable indicator of recent trends) showed gentler rises of 0.34 per cent in the month and 8.06 per cent in the year.
