Calling Artists:Author Venessa Kimball Offering Contestants Publication In Her Third Novel

April 20, 2013 - PRLog -- When Venessa Kimball began her journey as an author in 2012, her mission was to reach and inspire readers with the Piercing the Fold series.  2010, Venessa began writing what would become her debut novel and beginning of a series, Piercing the Fold: Book 1.  On July 3, 2012 Venessa independently published PtF: Book 1 and quickly gained a following of readers and fans!  Reviews averaging 4 out of 5 stars,  with numerous 5 star reviews, Venessa attracted readers world-wide with the  unorthodox Science Fiction and Paranormal content of her series.  
Within a month of publishing Book 1, Venessa began writing Surfacing the Rim: Book 2.  Surfacing the Rim: Book 2 was independently published by Venessa on March 14, 2013.  Again, Venessa did not disappoint her Piercing the Fold fans with this installment.  K. Nagy states in her 5 star review, “ I loved book 1 in the series and book 2 was a stellar addition to the 4 book series!”  Surfacing the Rim: Book 2’s  reviews are averaging 4.62 out of 5 star reviews with numerous 5 star reviews.

With 2 more books still remaining in the series, this science fiction and paranormal cocktail has already  inspired others  desire for this series to be brought to life!   Since the recent independent publication of Surfacing the Rim: Book 2, a  tribute jewelry piece has been requested, designed,  and currently being marketed by Cody Melton with The Melton Pot. Mr. Melton is a superb metal smith that has created multiple tribute pieces for JK Rowling’s  Harry Potter series as well as Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games series.   Piercing the Fold’s first tribute piece, “The Copula”, is breath-taking and caters tediously to Venessa’s  literary description of this central element in her series.  

Recently, Venessa was approached by a fan with a passion for sketch art, Tami.  She wanted  to submit an illustration of one of the main characters in the series and she thought it would be a great opportunity for artist everywhere if they could submit art too.  Venessa was humbled and touched to say the least. This was a call from a fan that spurred Venessa in to action.

Being fascinated  and enamored by  all forms of art and the people that create them, Venessa has decided to offer both graphic and sketch artists world-wide an opportunity to be highlighted as contributing illustrators within  the publication of her third book in the Piercing the Fold series,  Ascending the Veil: Book 3; due to release September 2013.  The illustrations will be companion illustrations for the PtF series within the novel.  

Venessa states, “So many talented artists surround us and they are never recognized for their craft.  Each of them have a story as to why they have a passion for art.  So many of them never get the opportunity to be acknowledged for their passion for multiple reasons; be it not enough resources,  economic burdens, or lack of support for their passion as an artist.   This  is just naming a few.  I have the opportunity to share my passion through the written word with this series.  I  want to share the opportunity I have been blessed with and give a few artist an opportunity to be acknowledged and celebrated for their passion of bringing life to "the imagined"  through visual art.”  

The Piercing the Fold Series Illustration Contest 2013 will be open for original series inspired submissions from independent illustration artists beginning May 1, 2013 and ending July 20, 2013.
