Boston Marathon Massage at Equinox

April 3, 2013 - PRLog -- (BOSTON, MA) –As Boston prepares for the 117th Boston Marathon on April, 15th, 2013, Equinox is preparing runners for their 26.2 mile run from Hopkinton, MA to the iconic finish line on Boylston Street with a targeted Sports Massage for both pre and post marathon runners.

Leading up to the event, runners can visit The Spa at Equinox, with two Boston locations on Dartmouth and Franklin Street, for a 50 or 80-minute pre-marathon sports massage ($115/$165) designed to prepare muscle groups so that the body can be pushed to perform intense physical activity. A seasoned massage therapist will apply deep pressure techniques to specific muscle groups which will properly warm up the muscles making sure that they are relaxed and flexible for the race.

Following the race, runners can recover with a post-marathon sports massage specially created to help muscles recover after an extreme workout. The 50 or 80-minute session ($115/$165) will flush out toxins from the body and relax muscle groups and cramps to return the body to a state of homeostasis.

The Spa at Equinox is open to non-members. Non-member guests receive complimentary club access, including group fitness classes and locker room amenities, the day of their treatment.
