Joining the ranks of the 2013 Honda Accord Sedan, the 2013 Honda Accord Coupe has received the best score from the NHTSA. The second generation of the Honda Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE II) body structure equips the new Accord with a reinforced frontal structure in the body of the model that serves to disperse the energy incurred during a front-end accident. It does this through a wider range of offset and oblique collision modes.
In addition to the new visibility features and front end collision technology of the ACE II, the new Accord is outfitted with a full set of airbags covering virtually every kind of crash, including dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags, new SmartVent front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. The new SmartVent technology helps significantly decrease the likelihood of injury incurred by the deployment of the airbag.
In addition to its safety features, the newly redesigned Honda Accord comes with a number of standard and optional technology, convenience, and comfort features including iPod input, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and much more. The new model comes with a standard base 2.4L 4-cylinder engine that gets 185 hp and up to an estimated 36 mpg highway. Drivers looking for even more power can opt for the 3.5L V6 engine for 278 hp and an estimated 34 mpg highway.
