Follow on Google News | CharlieDog and Friends Releases Made In America Plush Dogs Based on Real-Life Animal Shelter PetsCharlieDog and Friends, a NY-based toy company, has released their first Made in America line of plush toys based on real-life animal shelter adoptions.
"Honey" and "Sway", both inspired by real-life rescued pitbull terrier pets, are handcrafted in Phoenix, Arizona. They're 17" from the top of their head to the bottom of their feet. Purchase of the toys ($35.00) sparks a $5.00 donation to the local rescue group from which the real-life pet came. The purchase of Honey benefits No More Homeless Pets Utah, while purchasing Sway triggers a $5.00 donation to Los Angeles-area shelter photographer Josh Liddy. Launched in 2012 by New York Times sports photographer Suzy Allman, CharlieDogs has created the world's first plush dogs and cats based on real-life animal shelter and rescue success stories, to encourage adoption of the family pet, over purchase from a breeder. With the release of Honey and Sway, CharlieDogs has become one of a very small number of plush toy companies "reshoring" their production in the United States. All CharlieDog and Friends pets can be seen and purchased at www.charliedogandfriends.com. End
