Follow on Google News | The Stingray Name Returns with the All-New 2014 Chevrolet CorvetteThe new 2014 Stingray is being praised as the most powerful and most capable standard model of all-time.
This seventh-generation Corvette is powered by a new LT1 6.2L V8 engine that delivers an estimated 450 hp along with 450 lb-ft of torque. This V8 engine will also be paired with either a six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmission. Its performance features allow the 2014 Corvette to go from 0-60 mph in under four seconds. When it comes to fuel-efficiency, the new Stingray is expected to be the best, giving owners more than the EPA-estimated 26 mpg that its predecessor offered. Chevy has redesigned the interior to make it more appealing for drivers. The GT and Competition Sport seats are both available. Other interior features include dual eight-inch driver/infotainment screens, an available 10-speaker sound system, and Chevy’s MyLink Infotainment System. The 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray displays a redesigned exterior, using a new lightweight body frame structure along with a new aluminum frame that helps to deliver an optimal 50/50 weight balance. The LED lighting, including new dual-element taillamps, is crucial in design, making the Stingray stand out significantly. Ed Welburn, vice president of Global Design for General Motors said that, because the Stingray name is so well-known and so revered in the history of automobiles, unless GM and Chevrolet felt this new Corvette could stand up to this legacy, they would not have used the nameplate. Drivers in Homewood and the surrounding areas can expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to hit the market sometime in the third quarter of 2013.
