She explains, “In June, I resigned from my teaching position, packed some belongings, and headed south---with three kids, two cats, and a dog---to St Augustine, Florida, to take care of Mom. For Penny and her mother, it could have been the worst of times, and on some levels, Penny Wagner states, “It was a real struggle, but we pursued life and were not shattered or disheartened. My Mom valiantly fought the disease. She wanted to live!” It turned out that it was not the least of their time together, but, perhaps, the best of their time together. Penny avows, “God’s grace was upon us and our light shined the brightest.”
