Taking Care of Mom
And the rose’s pride is fled, and her beauty’s going...James Clarence Mangan
February 15, 2013 My mother suffered from COPD, a respiratory disease, and I took care of her during the later stages. It could of been the worst of times, and on some levels it was a real struggle, but we pursued "life" and we were not shattered or disheartened. It turned out that it was not the least of our time together, but, perhaps, the best of our time together. God’s grace was upon us and our light shined the brightest.
I wrote a book called, "Two Elephants in a Bathtub Taking Care of Mom." It's about Mom and me and ouf family's dynamics during Mom's care. It relays to the reader that this time the doctors call "terminal" was meant to be, and it truly was for us, not about a step down, but a time of a step up.
Two Elephants in a Bathtub explains to the audience our emotions, our drive, and our devotions.
Penny Wagner is infinitely qualified to write about this subject. “You must read, Penny Wagner’s, “Two Elephants in a Bathtub. Taking Care of Mom."
