LATINA Style Announces the Top 5 LATINA Executives of the Year for 2012

LATINA Style Honors Yamilet Torres of Oracle as the 2012 LATINA Executive of the Year

Dec. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Washington, D.C., December 21, 2012 —  In its 4th consecutive year, the LATINA Style Executive of the Year program honors influential Latinas, selected by their peers, as true leaders and examples for the Hispanic community and for the professional women in the U.S. These Latinas demonstrate excellence in leadership, commitment to the community, impact the company’s bottom line and create an environment where associates are encouraged to always look for the next big opportunity. LATINA Style had a record number of submissions this year making the selection process particularly challenging.

We are proud to announce Ms. Yamilet Torres, Senior Director, Customer Support Services Life Sciences, Healthcare and Insurance Industry at Oracle, as the LATINA Style Executive for 2012. With over 24 years of experience in IT, Torres is a founding member and Chair of the Oracle Hispanic Leadership Association (HOLA), an Employee Resource Group whose mission is to support the growth of members through education, networking, mentorship, and leadership. She also has served on the Board of Directors of the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) for two years and is an active participant at HITEC’s Executive Summits. “Ms. Torres is a shining example of what Latinas can achieve in the corporate arena. Her work ethic, commitment to success and relentless pursuit of excellence has made her a role model for not only Latinas but to all who choose a professional career,” said Robert E. Bard, president & CEO of LATINA Style Inc.

In addition to the top Latina executive of the year selected, LATINA Style also takes pride in honoring four additional Latinas that radiate merit and leadership at the company they work for. They are: Nellie Borrero, Managing Director, Global Inclusion & Diversity, Accenture; Yvette Donado, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Senior Vice President, People, Process & Communications, ETS; Carmen R. Bauza, Vice President Beauty and Personal Care, Walmart; and Louise Nelson, Senior Vice President & Assistant General Counsel Governance & Compliance, Hilton Worldwide. These women demonstrate that success is not only a personal achievement, but also creates opportunities for those around them and for future professionals.
