Dec. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- To coincide with National Road Safety Week, which took place between 19-25 November, Linden Homes, the award-winning house builder, donated in excess of 800 fluorescent arm bands to pupils at schools in Newent, Chippenham, Abergavenny and Bradford on Avon, in a bid to help them stay safe and be seen as they walk or cycle to school during the darker winter months.

Adrian Bird, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes Western, comments: “According to the Department of Transport, nearly 20,000 children were injured on UK roads last year, a worryingly high statistic.

“As part of our work with local communities around our developments we wanted to play our part in promoting road safety awareness. The arm bands will help the children become more visible in the darker mornings and evenings, making their journey to and from school safer during the coming winter months.”

Mrs. Griffiths, executive head teacher at Glebe Infant School in Newent, says: “We are very grateful that Linden Homes has thought of us for the road safety initiative, this is such an important topic.  I know that our pupils will enjoy wearing the arm bands and their parents will be delighted that they will now be more visible to road users.”

Linden Homes Western is building in the following locations: Chippenham and Bradford-on-Avon in Wiltshire, Gloucester, Newent, Cheltenham, Bristol, Abergavenny, Midsomer Norton and Kilmersdon in Somerset.
