Using weather information from Wunderground.com, the software collects information from 68 weather stations across the United Kingdom. These stations are predominantly located at airports, due to the reliability and accuracy of the data available.
The software then converts the temperature data into Degree Day information, allowing the customer to produce regression and CUSUM analysis. Additionally, the data can be used to generate many of the optima™ reports already available.
The module is designed to enable the end user to eliminate changes in temperature from analysis of their energy usage, thus providing a more accurate pattern of their consumption and allowing them to easily identify areas for improvement.
Steve Wright, Managing Director at Optima Energy Management, explains: “Our customers require greater accuracy when it comes to predicting and monitoring inefficiencies in their energy management.
“This addition to the optima™ software provides the extra layer of detail many of our customers crave.”
The information will be provided on a day plus one basis, allowing customers to analyse their data sooner than ever before.
“The fact that this information is available the very next day is vital to our customers,” continues Mr Wright. “The days of waiting until the end of the month to analyse your energy usage have long gone - our customers want to be able to make changes to their energy management practices the very next day - and this module enables our customers to do exactly that.”
Subscribers to the service will immediately benefit from access to three years worth of historical data.
