San Diego Venture Group Decides PitchFest Semi-Finalists

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 7, 2012 - SAN DIEGO – November 7, 2012 –San Diego Venture Group (SDVG) chose eleven companies that will continue competing in PitchFest 2012, from more than 100 applications received during the last eight weeks. SDVG’s PitchFest competition grants seed money to winning companies that are first screened by a committee, then selected by judges, and ultimately voted upon by audience members at the annual PitchFest dinner for their innovation, investor appeal and progress.

Executives from these semi-finalist companies will present to a panel of venture capitalist judges November 15, and those judges will choose the three finalists for the annual PitchFest dinner to be held December 13, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla.

The semi-finalist companies are Blurtopia, Cardea Dx, Inc., Cashie Commerce, Cypher Genomics, Dealstruck, GroundMetrics Inc., LIA: Liberated Intelligence & Analysis, MD Revolution, Multimeric Biotherapeutics, Inc., NewBlue and StokeBox.

“We had a panel of entrepreneurs, VCs, and other San Diego-area professionals narrow down the more than 100 applications we received to get us to our semi-finalists,” said David Titus, SDVG President. “These are some amazing home-grown companies and we congratulate all of them!”

Each of the three finalists will present their business plan to hundreds of audience members at the event in December. Audience members will use an electronic voting system to cast their votes and decide how much money each company receives.
