Each tray and stand can be separated for focussed individual play, or clipped together so that a group can work collaboratively. The most popular configuration is the 4 piece Exploration Circle set, using either coloured or clear trays. Each tray can be filled with a different substance such as: sand, water, bark chippings, shredded paper, straw, GelliBaff® or shells to encourage young children’s active exploration and creative thinking. Handling the materials in the trays will develop children’s manipulative skills and, with the support of an attentive practitioner, there are opportunities to look closely, to share ideas and to practise communication and language skills.
The stand is very strong and stable, comes as a flat pack and, at 460mm high, is the ideal height for nursery aged children. To erect, the legs are simply opened out from the rear and a top cross bar
