They are collectively called sensory timers although in truth they do not measure time, rather the passage of time – a little like watching sand run through an hourglass but instead of sand they use brightly coloured liquids that interact to create fascinating effects.  

Six different sets

There are 6 different sensory timer sets and each one works and behaves in a different way.  In one, the dark blue liquid forms into hundreds of tiny round balls that look like little footballs running down a spiral staircase, in another the bright liquid flows upwards from the bottom through a tiny hole in the centre collecting at the top – like a conventional sand timer but in reverse. They are all fascinating to watch and will captivate the imagination.
