Actor Will Thompson Goes After BET Host Position.
August 20th, 2012 Chicago, IL – Veteran Actor Will Thompson proudly announces his intention of going for the new BET Host position. Actor Will Thompson is known for his commanding performances in the 2011 hit film 'The Dilemma' staring Vince Vaughn and as the male lead in 'Shots Fired' out in 2012.
Thompson has been on the path to become an actor since the age of 12, drawing inspiration from major actors like Jackie Gleason, Redd Foxx, Denzel Washington, Robert Dinero and Al Pacino, who all influenced Thompson. With interest in music and armed with the natural talent of being able to play the piano by ear, Thompson pursued music in L.A. During his time in LA, Will landed a record deal with Da Row (Death Row Records).
"I knew I wanted to be an actor the second I saw Al Pacino in the Godfather." says Actor Will Thompson "Al Pacino’s style on stage blew me away so much that I had to start acting.’
Acting in over 20 plays in the greater Chicago area, Will has a talent for expressing his lines in a melodic mix of poetry and literary style that has been compared to Shakespeare. His acting skills challenge young intellects to be interested in the world around them, serving as a catalyst of change for urban youth in Chicago.
Following his success on the stages of Chicago, Will has hosted several celebrity charity events and has been in a leading male role in two TV pilots (Matadors) and (Pleading Guilty), the made for TV movie (There Are No Children Here) and a male role in (The Dilemma) staring Vince Vaughn. Thompson with his theatrical talent was featured in a couple of national T.V. commercials and radio spots.
Coming in late 2012, 'Shots Fired', an indie film that casts a realistic eye at the psychology behind burnt out cops and process that takes them there, will feature Thompson in a leading male role as a no-nonsense mob boss who don't take kindly to cops shedding light on his business dealings.
