By: Evenflo Journey 300 I did extensive research as I was selecting a travel system for our son (first child). When we got the stroller, it was a brand new product so there were no reviews, but I liked Evenflo's older models so I took the chance. Here are some observations: 1) Embrace 35 car seat - One of the reasons I chose this travel system was because the car seat goes up to 35lbs. I think this is a nice feature to have, but I don't know if we'll keep our son in it that long. The big advantage of the infant car seat is that you can carry the child in the car seat, but now that he is around 18lbs, it is not practical to carry him very far, it's just way too heavy. It works fine if we are just removing him from the car and putting him straight in the stroller, but even just to carry him into a restaurant is getting to be too far. One thing to know is that the base that comes with the stroller system is NOT adjustable. We had to put a pool noodle under it to make it the right angle. We bought a separate base for my parents' car and it is adjustable. 2) Stroller - This stroller does not have adjustable height handles. I was wanting that feature because my husband and I are different heights (5'3" and 6'). It has ended up not being an issue, the height works well for both of us. I love that it has such a large basket underneath. We've actually taken our baby and small dog on a walk and when the dog got tired, just put her in the basket. The only issue we've had with the stroller is that the brakes on the front wheels will occasionally lock while we are strolling. Another nice feature is the child tray can unhook on either side so you can swing it out either direction to remove the child. The parent cup holders are great and are deep enough for a tall water bottle, 3) Using car seat in the stroller - it is very easy to put the car seat in the stroller, it literally just clicks in. There is a little strap that you can use to further connect the car seat to the stroller. This little strap does not connect very easily as it does not line up exactly with the hook on the car seat. My husband called Evenflo's customer service and they said it was normal for it to not line up and that you just have to pull it hard enough to get it over the hook on the car seat. My husband has been able to hook it but I'm not able to pull it hard enough. 4) Sunshade - the picture is a little deceptive as the sunshade on the stroller does not overlap with the sunshade on the car seat, there is a small gap between the two. 5) Folding the stroller - It is very easy and fast to fold up and unfold the stroller. I'm sure if I practiced enough I could fold up with one hand, but I'm just not that good at it yet. Regardless, I can still fold it up and get it in the car in less than thirty seconds. 6) Color - I have the pinwheel pattern and it is really cute! The green is a nice bright green and I chose it because I want to be able to use with a girl if we have one in the future. Color is good, assembling is easy. But only con i found out is, the canopy doesn't cover the baby entirely. There is a gap between the canopy of the stroller and canopy of car seat. I feel this was very important especially in summer. I had to return this and get another stroller from babytrend which covers the baby entirely. This stroller and carseat met all my expectations! I wanted to buy this travel system because it is such a nice pattern and color. It is also a great price. I ended up buying a different travel system because this one only has a 3 point harness in the car seat. Almost all other car seats on the market now are a 5 point harness which is what is recommended. If this had a 5 point harness I would have bought it for sure. The quality is excellent. The color is beautiful. Both car seat and stroller are cushy and the material seems easy to clean, although I do imagine it making for a sweaty baby in the hot weather. I imagine that can be resolved by placing something cotton between the material and baby. The base is not adjustable, that is a separate thing and I think Evenflo should be more clear about this. The stroller is awesome, easy to move, easy to fold up, one handed, has nice storage, and the drink holders are shallow but fit my coffee mug snuggly. They could improve this with making them deeper and adjustable. I read the complaints but this was not a concern for me. Overall the item is excellent, especially the price and I am very happy. The canopies do overlap. I am not sure why there are complaints about that. Super easy to put together and install.
