The music teacher’s “meet and greet” open house allows the community a chance to meet the teachers and learn more about the program first hand. The “meet and greet” scheduled for Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 6:00-9:00pm is a phenomenal way of allowing the community to see for how great a program this is.
The Arts Academy led by 1st Presbyterian Church of Mount Clemens member and arts administrator, Jeanie Kirkum, and resourced by Resource Advisor, Pastor Roxie Davis, is gaining much attention. With the help of other church members The Arts Academy is touching the lives of students throughout the community. “Many schools have eliminated or drastically reduced the music programs due to budget cuts, we want to provide the opportunities because we understand the importance of such programs. Our hope as a church is that the Arts Academy will help children, youth, and adults appreciate the arts in an atmosphere of Christian values and love” says Jeanie Kirkum. With classes in Organ, Piano, Voice, Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Show Choir (ages 8-14)  and Mini Music (ages 4-7,)  taught by talented music instructors with the bonus of  ample parking, spacious rooms for lessons, convenient hours and instructions available for preschoolers to adults, the program encompasses everything needed for huge success. From individual, group, and show choir lessons there is something for everyone including Mini Music which offers lessons for children ages 4-7.

The students have a platform to showcase their musical abilities during recitals, events and worship services.
