Aug. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Stooshe, the three-piece British girl group who have taken the pop world by storm, will be performing live at Kempton Park on Friday, September 7th, along with Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, who will take to the tables to bring you the latest club classics for a non-stop party in the parade ring after racing.

Stooshe hit the headlines last year after being nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll and have continued to stamp their brand on the music world receiving rave reviews as one of the freshest, most talented girl groups in the UK.  The group, that consists of members Alexandra Buggs, Karis Anderson and Courtney Rumbold, has rewritten the rules for girl bands delivering a truly unique take on urban pop music.  The girls are boisterous, mischievous, outgoing, witty and bring their own distinct personalities to the stage in a refreshingly modern performance.

Stooshe rocketed into the charts in June with their second single ‘Black Heart’, a dramatic ballad instantly relatable to by anyone who has ever had a bad relationship!  Signed to Warner Music Group in August 2011, Stooshe quickly hit the headlines by releasing the buzz single "Betty Woz Gone" in October 2011. The group released their first official single, "Love Me" in March 2012, featuring US rapper Travie McCoy - where it debuted at number five on the UK Singles Chart. The girls announced in June that they will be supporting American rapper Nicki Minaj on the UK leg of the ‘Pink Friday Tour’.
Stooshe will be joined at Kempton Park by one of the most listened to and popular DJs in the UK, Scott Mills, who will mix some club classics to get everyone dancing.  Scott is no stranger to cutting edge live music having co-hosted the BBC Hackney Weekend at the end of June with performances by Jay Z, Rihanna, Jessie J and many more names that will dominate the music scene in the next 12 months!

Scott, who joined Radio 1 in 1998 as the Early Breakfast Show host, won the Sony Gold Winner of Music Radio Personality of the Year in 2010 and Broadcaster of the Year in the Stonewall Awards in 2011.  Scott hosts many live events for Radio 1 including The Brit Awards and Radio 1's Big Weekend and took part in the BT Red Nose Charity Trek for Comic Relief in 2011, spending five days in the Kaisut desert in North Kenya to raise money to help change people’s lives.

Scott will mix some of his favourite tunes late into the evening making it a night to remember for party people looking for a great night out.   As well as an evening of horseracing and vibrant music Kempton Park offers many bars and food outlets to relax in with friends.

Phil White, General Manager at Kempton Park Racecourse, said:   “We are delighted to have Stooshe and Scott Mills coming to Kempton Park.  Both acts have such distinctive appeal and offer racegoers a unique opportunity for a great night out”.
