Olly’s career took off with jet fuelled propulsion following his appearance on X Factor in 2009 where he sang a duet with Robbie Williams. Williams then subsequently invited Murs to participate in the upcoming Soccer Aid that he was organising, an annual event that Olly took part in again at Old Trafford in May. Olly’s career never faltered with his first single ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’ reaching number one in September 2010. Murs second album ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ reached number one in the UK album charts featuring two No.1 singles ‘Heart Skips a Beat’ and ‘Dance with Me Tonight’.
Not content with three number one singles, and two double platinum albums, Olly Murs also co-presented The X Factor spin-off show The Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack and had a twenty date Arena Tour throughout the UK and Ireland in February 2012 with every venue selling out, including two nights at London’s O2 arena.
Olly loves performing live and is looking forward to performing for his fans at Kempton Park Racecourse once again following a fantastic finale to the Kempton Live music nights in 2011, in front of a crowd of 7,000 fans. “I really enjoy playing live and just want people to enjoy my music. The atmosphere at Kempton is always amazing and I enjoy backing a few horses too.” commented Olly in his famous easygoing banter.
Olly is looking forward to performing many of his hit’s including the single ‘Dance With Me Tonight’, co written with Steve Robson and Claude Kelly. “The song just popped out of nowhere,” laughs Olly. “It’s a really hooky, happy song that you can’t help dancing to. I love its Showaddywaddy doo-wop feel, and I defy anyone not to tap their feet to it when they hear it.”
Phil White, General Manager of Kempton Park Racecourse, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Olly back to Kempton for a third consecutive year, tickets to the concert are selling like hot cakes so we are looking forward to a great night”.
“Olly always performs a fantastic show for his fans which leaves everybody buzzing when they see him live. He has a unique feel good style of music which is perfect for a summer’s evening at Kempton Park.” Phil continued.
