With results just being released for sharing on August 8,the staff met on August 9 across the district to begin studying the student performance . They looked for learning gaps that could be attributed to curriculum, sequence of the course or continuity across grades and content area. The continuous improvement model used by Branson School District RE-82 appreciates the gains but continuously looks for the areas of gap and the reasons for such while looking for replicating strategies, processes, procedures, sequence of delivery and making adjustment in content where needed. Teachers review the data, compare and contrast what they have done and implement the improvement process which is data driven. Throughout the year the district has made a practice of incorporating the MAPS testing (which is correlated to the state assessment) so that students, parents, and teachers can get a more timely set of data to work with. This approach provides the basis to make adjustments throughout the year in the areas of learning that are understood and those that need additional focus. The district has found this to be appreciated by parents and believe it will be a valuable resource as they continueto encourage more personal ownership in student learning.
Branson School District RE-82 values the opportunity to serve all students throughout Colorado via Branson School Online. Students and parents who are residents of Colorado and considering schooling online for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to review student growth and performance across the schools they are considering. Then we hope parents will compare those data to the performance of students learning at Branson School Online. This information is readily available on Schoolview which is located on the Colorado Department of Education website.
