The Record Hires Editor For New Section

New York Times editor returns to North Jersey newsroom to lead Signature section.

Aug. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Woodland Park, NJ – The Record is pleased to announce that Alan Finder, a veteran editor and reporter who began his career at the newspaper more than three decades ago, has rejoined the editorial staff as the inaugural editor of the paper’s new weekly news-feature section, Signature.

Making its debut next month, Signature will feature stylish writing and vibrant photography and graphics to capture life in North Jersey in ways that go beyond The Record’s award-winning daily news report.

Finder covered Ridgewood, Elmwood Park and other communities for The Record before rising to become a front-page enterprise and special-feature writer. “I’m delighted to welcome Alan back to The Record,” said Editor Martin Gottlieb. “He’s performed with distinction in each of his roles, with thoughtfulness, imagination and great professionalism, and also with collegiality and good humor.”
