Known as the Oscars of the UK plastics industry, the Plastics Industry Awards is the industry’s most prestigious awards initiative, recognising, celebrating and encouraging achievement throughout the UK plastics industry. The awards offer an insight into current developments in materials usage, product design and innovative manufacturing as well as identifying excellence in training and environmental performance.
Shortlisted entrants for the Consumer Product Design of the Year are: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Axion Polymers, Eyejusters, Magmatic, Nampak Plastics and Hymid Multi-Shot with ETI (Electronic Temperature Instruments)
Finalists shortlisted in the Best Environmental or Energy Efficiency Programme are: AB Systems, APPE, Green Roof Tile Company, Hi-Technology Group, IFS Chemicals, Nifco UK and PVC Recycling. For the Apprentice or Trainee of the Year Award, sponsored by the PMMDA in association with the PPMA, the finalists are Daniel Retallick of Polymeroptix UK, James Kelly of DuPont Teijin Films, Kane Wilson of Hi-Technology Group, Laura Bell of ColorMatrix , Paul Brown of Duo Plastics, Sarah Watson of Plastribution and Warran Hughes of UCP Zeller.
In its third successful year Agentdraw’s Young Designer Award will run again in association with the Plastics Industry Awards. Finalists in this category will be announced at a later date.
Winners will be announced at the glittering black-tie gala event held at the London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane on Friday 28th September 2012.
