July 6, 2012 - PRLog -- On June 24, 2012 legendary MLB World Series Pitcher Jamie Moyer and his lovely wife Karen Moyer hosted The Moyer Foundation's highly anticipated Celebrity Ping-Pong Tournament at XFINITY! LIVE in Philadelphia, bringing together some of the biggest and brightest stars in the realms of sports, politics, fashion and entertainment. These bold-faced names went on to compete against each other in a titanic battle for the coveted champion's bragging rights all in the name of charity. The tournament left spectators captivated in excitement to watch their favorite stars compete, however the most fascinating match off all featured international supermodel Farah Zulaikha and longtime Delaware Governor Jack Markell in an unusual pairing dubbed "THE GLAM V. THE GOV".

The bewitchingly beautiful supermodel came dressed to thrill as per her usual. Outfitted in a sunny hued orange Polo Ralph Lauren dress and her signature waist-length natural dark locks scraped back into a playful ponytail, the pièce de résistance was the glamazon's special edition SWAROVSKI X DOC MARTEN Swarovski crystal encrusted patent leather combat boots which glittered on the turf catching the eyes of the comely Karen Moyer and event emcee ESPN radio personality 97.5 The Fanatic's Jon Marks. In politically correct fashion Governor Markell was all business on the NBC Sports field, outfitted in a simple grey Moyer Foundation T-shirt and shorts with matching grey cap. Flanked by two hulking security guards, Governor Markell carried his own custom ping-pong paddles as a reminder of his days as a table tennis champion.

Talking to the press before the match, Farah Zulaikha expressed her anticipation to take on Governor Markell explaining "It's no secret that I am not really the most athletic person. I was quite tall at an early age and I remember the volleyball and basketball girls in school trying to recruit me into their ranks... I always told them not to let the height fool them, they were better off without me! I was decent at tennis and ping-pong. I'm here to rep for the girls!" Being only one of two women who played in the tournament, the fashionista flashed her a smile and went on to divulge "I'll let you all in on a secret. The Moyer Foundation kindly gave me my choice of opponent. I checked out the list and saw all of these athletes so I figured I would take the easy way out and go with the politician so as to give myself the best chance of winning. BAD MOVE! I came here only to find out Governor Markell has been playing since age five, is a former champion and is arguably the best player here. THAT TOTALLY BACKFIRED! I'm going to go in there and do my best."

The time for the match finally came as onlookers clamored for a glimpse of the stunning Farah Zulaikha and the esteemed Governor Markell as they smiled and chatted pleasantly throughout the game. The charming supermodel caught the eyes of many admirers with even Governor Markell's security team snapping photos and the event emcees cheekily praising the brainy beauty on her "great form" as the two titans of fashion and politics fought it out for philanthropy. Her "form" however was less than perfect when she lobbed the ball directly at the Governor Markell's head in an out-of-control shot that prompted Zulaikha to blush and apologize sheepishly as Governor Markell laughed heartily, deadpanning "Excuse me Mr. Governor, I will take care not to do that again. I don't want to risk being tackled by THOSE guys!" pointing at Governor Markell's statuesque guards.

In the end even the irresistible charms of the darling Farah Zulaikha were not enough to secure victory. The supermodel was defeated by Governor Markell in a respectable 9-11 match. In a display of unsurprising class and sportsmanship, the pair congratulated each other on a good game and a job well done to help children in crisis through The Moyer Foundation. Governor Markell graciously spoke about besting the international beauty crediting her by stating "She did a great job. She did very well and made some tricky shots. She fought until the end and we were tied for most of the game." The Governor went on to win the entire tournament in a shut-out that left all in suspense until the end. Zulaikha shared her thoughts post-match, saying "I hate losing. I always put my 100% in and try my best. But Governor Markell was a very formidable opponent, he was very good. In the end, I feel great because any time I and others can do something to help children it is a win-win situation. There are no losers here. That is what I am going to keep repeating when I get ultimately made fun of by everyone I know for losing today!" With an explosive peal of laughter the supermodel went on to take press photos at the VIP post-game reception and the tournament came to a close.
