Supermodel Farah Zulaikha Facebooks for Haiti Earthquake Relief
In the world of celebrities, recent news has been riddled with stories of arrests, scandals, addictions and overdoses. Which is why it is always refreshing to hear about celebrities performing good deeds to help others. Although she is no stranger to charity, international supermodel/socialite Farah Zulaikha is also a SUPER humanitarian. Joining the ranks of Twitter enthusiasts Disney's Selena Gomez and rapper L.L. Cool J, Farah Zulaikha is the most recent celebrity to utilize social media sites to spread awareness for the recent devastating earthquake which rocked the island nation of Haiti in January 2010. On her official Facebook page, Farah Zulaikha urged friends and fans to aid in the Haiti relief effort, stating "'L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE! I pray for all those affected by this terrible disaster. Remember friends, help has many faces. Whether in the form of physical help, donations, prayers, thoughts, or just simple compassion- we can all lend a hand. My heart is in Haiti." It is widely known that Farah Zulaikha's late maternal grandmother was an avid supporter of UNICEF in the middle east. Staying true to her noble roots, Farah also added a link to UNICEF'S Haiti Earthquake Online Donation Page, writing "My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Haiti. As a third-generation supporter of UNICEF, I am posting this link here for anyone who would like to make an online donation to UNICEF'S Haiti Earthquake Relief. Be strong Haiti, your plight is not overlooked and you will not be forgotten!" Although it is a rarity to find celebrities who attain fame and use it for less than respectable causes, it is a comfort to know that there are celebrities like Farah Zulaikha who utilize their star power for humanity. She is a supermodel who is "super" in every sense of the word.
