June 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Learning: Steps to Becoming a Passionate Lifelong Leader, by NetCom Learning CEO Russell Sarder, was just named a finalist in the Motivational Category by the Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group.

The Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group award is part of the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards, a nonprofit awards program judged by leaders in the indie book publishing industry.

Russel Sarder (http://www.russellsarder.com) said the award is a wonderful affirmation of the importance of getting the word out about lifelong learning.

"Lifelong learning is so many things to so many people. It's empowering and exciting and energizing, but most importantly, it's absolutely essential to success. This book is one way to get that message across, and I'm pleased that it was recognized with this award," Sarder said.

Sarder's book, Learning: Steps to Becoming a Passionate Lifelong Learner (http://www.russellsarder.com/learningsteps-to-becoming-a-passionate-lifelong-learner-2/), outlines eight specific steps to help anyone develop a passion for learning. Through inspirational quotes from contemporary and historical public figures who were also lifelong learners, like Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton and Abraham Lincoln, the book shows the relationship between being a learner and becoming a leader. The book explains how nurturing a love of learning and self-improvement can lead to personal satisfaction and career advancement.

The book has helped create a learning movement to promote the values of lifelong learning. The book received acclaim when it was selected to be featured at the Newark Peace Education Summit, where the XIVth Dalai Lama received a copy. It was also given to attendees of last year's World Business Forum. Last year the book was also honored by being named an award-winning finalist in the Business: Motivational category of the USA "Best Books 2011 Awards," sponsored by USA Book News.

In addition to his book, Sarder has embraced his role as CEO of learning and promoted the values of lifelong learning through his company, NetCom Learning. NetCom Learning's purpose is to promote the values of lifelong learning, and the company does that through its classes, its Sarder Scholarship program promoting continued learning, and a series of learning videos informing viewers of the attributes that make great leaders and successful entrepreneurs. Sarder has created a Nationwide Learning Movement, which defines the values of lifelong learning and helps the public to share their own love of learning while spreading the word about what lifelong learning means.
