Buzz Builds Around Elite Team of Interns at FBLA-PBL National Leadership Conference

Select Students Support over 10,000 Attendees Through Social Media Outreach, Face-to-Face Networking, Onsite Marketing

June 23, 2012 - PRLog -- SAN ANTONIO -- Over 10,000 high school and college students are making their way to the historic city of San Antonio, Texas for the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (http://fbla-pbl.org) (FBLA-PBL) National Leadership Conferences on June 24-27 (PBL–collegiate division) and June 29-July 2 (FBLA–high school division).

Once there, attendees will turn to a dedicated team of their peers for answers and inspiration. The inaugural Buzz Squad is a select group of over 35 students from across the country focused on supporting the conference through a number of creative marketing, social outreach, and recruitment activities. Initiatives include:

Daily Video Updates -- Each morning attendees will awake to a new video that promotes conference highlights, as well as an evening video that recaps the day's events and helps members prepare for the coming day.

Pop-up Workshops -- During breaks in the conference, Buzz Squad members will lead short, 2–3 minute workshops on a variety of hot topics. Borrowing on the trend in pop-up retail stores, these non-traditional learning exchanges will be quick bursts of information -- for students, by students.

Social Media -- Buzz Squad members will engage heavily with attendees using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and new this year, Pinterest.

Additionally, a few privileged Buzz Squad members will gain even more hands-on leadership skills by being appointed “CEO for the Day.” These budding entrepreneurs and business leaders will direct all the marketing activities of their fellow team members. They will deploy their teams based on skills and experience; work with a small budget to create and implement eye-catching daily marketing campaigns; and ensure a successful and seamless transition with their fellow CEOs.
