New Emergency App Is Marketing Bonanza for Locksmiths - iPhone and Android Now Available

Locksmiths have been faced with huge hurdles when it comes to effectively marketing their businesses, especially online. Google Places aka Google+ Local has been the holy grail. But a new App might offer a better marketing solution for locksmiths.

June 23, 2012 - PRLog -- "Consumers are rapidly shifting to smart phones, such as the iPhone and various Android powered phones, as their primary method for finding local businesses to provide them with goods and services," says Randy Kirk, local, small business marketing expert.  "Phone books are an historic novelty, but searching on computers and laptops is on the list for extinction, too."

With the switch to smart phones comes a new battle for visibility among small businesses.  Will the savvy consumer use their smart phone to do a Google Search, a Yelp Search, or a Bing Search.  Many are betting that at least some of that search will be app driven instead of internet driven.  Why would any small business want to have their most critical method for getting found be a place where they have no control over positioning and where their competitors will be on the same page as they are?

This has resulted in some companies creating apps for the businesses so that they can circumvent Google and the rest.  If the consumer will load their app onto the phone, the next time they need that type of service, the customer has no need to do a search.  They just click on the app and it dials the number.

Kirk says that there is one hitch in that plan.  "As a smart phone user, I have limited space for apps.  I might put the apps for a restaurant that I go to frequently, or my favorite bike shop if I'm an enthusiast.  But not many folks will upload a locksmith app, even if the app is free

"That's why we invented My Emergency App.  With My Emergency App, the user is getting very useful information that will be of great benefit in any emergency.  The app has critical numbers like 911, police, fire, and national 800 numbers for agencies like the suicide hotline.  There is also a place for the user to add the numbers of their own personal emergency contacts and doctors.  And there is a place for the number of the local locksmith, explains Kirk."

In fact, the app has a place for the numbers of 12 trusted local companies who provide emergency services:  plumbers, glass repair, urgent care, emergency dentist, roofer, towing service, emergency hospital, 24 hour vet, garage door repair, and appliance repair.

Kirk maintains that by grouping all of these emergency numbers on one app, consumers will not only download it happily, but will give it a prime spot on the main screen of their phone.  Now the locksmith has an exclusive position for his business on an app that is very likely to be used in an emergency.  Locksmiths can get a more detailed look by viewing a YouTube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkY7Hd6IdP4

The app is already available on iTunes, in the App store, and in the Google Play Market.  For more information, the company has created a website at http://www.MyEmergencyApp.com
