June 4, 2012 - PRLog -- On the eve of another historic night for U.S. Soccer’s modern day fairytale Cal FC, the club from Thousand Oaks, California has announced a new partnership with its Southern Californian counterparts the San Diego Flash Soccer Club. This is a move that is sure to get tongues wagging across the country.

Today’s announcement will see Cal FC become an affiliated club of SDSP Soccer Marketing, Inc. (SDSP). This will help secure the financial future of Cal FC on the back of the significant costs incurred with their successful U.S. Open Cup run. SDSP will also help with strategic marketing and PR support to help Cal FC grow now and into the future.

The long-term effects of this deal should not be underestimated. With a blueprint for developing local soccer talent now high on the agenda, plans to join the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) can be the platform for this future growth.

This new alliance is a coup for the NPSL. The San Diego Flash – coached by Eric Wynalda’s Fox Soccer co-host and former England International, Warren Barton, is already making waves in the Western Conference of the league with an undefeated season so far. It will also mean that the reach and influence of Eric Wynalda, Warren Barton and SDSP on the local soccer community will now stretch up the coast through Orange County and into Los Angeles.

Further information will be announced in the coming weeks. For now, SDSP is encouraging soccer fans across the country to support Cal FC by making a donation to the club to help fund this amazing cup run or to take that extra step and become a Part-Owner in SDSP Soccer Marketing, Inc. for the long term.

“Along with my Partners Warren Barton and Eric Wynalda, we believe the rise in the popularity of Soccer in the U.S. will continue for years to come and today’s announcement is a reflection of our commitment to growth both on and off the field.

“SDSP is growing exponentially and there is no better opportunity to become a Part-Owner in these clubs than now, especially when we transition into a publically traded company in the coming months.” Said Clent Alexander; CEO of SDSP.

Cal FC’s cup run has been the catalyst for change at the grassroots of the game. Win or lose tomorrow against the Seattle Sounders, the overall game of soccer in the U.S. has changed and it’s Eric Wynalda, Warren Barton and SDSP Soccer Marketing, Inc. now positioned to lead that change.

Cal FC travel to CenturyLink Field, Seattle, tomorrow (Tuesday June 5), for a fourth round U.S. Open Cup clash vs the Seattle Sounders. Fox Soccer will be broadcasting the game live from 7pm PST
