May 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Global Elite Group is offering a new set of guidelines to help event planners and corporations plan for safer parties and large-scale events. The event season is going into high-gear, and with the arrival of the warmer weather the company has created a set of guidelines to help make each successful. Global has recently completed some very large projects including protecting the Space Shuttles on their way to the various museums around the U.S., a Stanley Cup event in Times Square as well as numerous concerts, benefits and school campus events, “No two events are ever alike; with every event we are contacted to handle, we provide an outline of considerations that event planners appreciate when it comes to having everything run smoothly and safely,” explained William McGuire, President and CEO of Global Elite Group.

Event security is a growing area for Global Elite Group, the company points out that since 9/11 high profile event planners realize they could become targets from groups looking to push their agenda. “Event Security is not an area to cut corners; it is an absolute necessity as it now also encompasses crowd control. You never want your event to be affected by a security breach or incident that could have been avoided,” offered Bryan Davis, Director of Marketing & Sales. Knowing what is involved, and when to have security part of the planning can be easily overlooked. Global provides a step-by-step program of what to do and when.

When an event is in the planning stages Global Elite works with local law enforcement and agencies that need to be involved, at the very beginning. This is a very important part of the services the company provides and one of the guidelines that should not be overlooked. “Local laws may require a security detail based on the size or anticipated size of the event and the crowds they may attract. We work with the police departments and have former law enforcement on our staff working the security alongside police details,” stated Davis.

Sometimes the event may just be an executive or group of executives who need to travel to an area where they may become a target. “We will coordinate activities through our specialized event and VIP services division for executives to get to and from their destinations,” stated McGuire.

The guidelines the company recommends a review which includes:
Armed or Un-armed—depending on the threat level, this is an important consideration.
Conflict Resolution—an important consideration when dealing with large crowds or where alcohol is being served, the ability to have a team member defuse a situation effectively can keep the festivities from turning ugly.
High-profile Guests/Asset Protection—a security detail should be assigned just to them and transportation needs to be arranged to keep them separated from the crowd.
Perimeter Security—a check of all areas prior to and during the event to make sure party-crashers or those with more sinister intentions, are kept away.
Training—a keen understanding of the type of training needed to keep your event running smoothly. Look for companies that continually provide training and have strict background checks on those working your event.

Each event is a special and unique time. Security is just as important as the theme, food, décor and entertainment being provided.
