The last time storms formed so early, before the official start of the season, was 1908. Forecasters are calling for 12 tropical storms, 6 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes of category 3 or stronger. Regardless of the number, storms of this nature should be planned for as their impact costs a lot in lost revenues.
