May 21, 2012 - PRLog -- SARASOTA, Florida – Plumbers and HVAC-R professionals look no more – Blaklader work pants are the functional choice for daily workwear. Blaklader workwear has become the first choice of plumbers and HVAC-R professionals who need a durable work garment that keeps them comfortable and productive.

Old, worn-out jeans can’t live up to Blaklader’s engineered work pants that have been used on the toughest jobsites for decades. With features like exterior tool pockets and kneepad pockets, the best-selling work pants provide functionality and durability in every stitch and fiber, much like a basin wrench, pipe snake or O-ring.  The work pants also include Cordura® reinforcements in high-wear areas. Cordura® is a highly abrasion-resistant synthetic textile made by Invista commonly found on backpack straps.

Plumbers spend a lot of time on their knees but neglect wraparound kneepads because they are difficult to put on and remove. Blaklader’s kneepad system features pockets with a bottom opening to prevent debris from falling between the pad and knee. Pads secure into a fabric shelf so they stay in place without shifting. The kneepad system allows for swift transitions between working overhead and on the ground, without the hassle of putting on and taking off constricting wrap-around kneepads. Knee injury can stem from abnormal wear and tear and years of misuse, according to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).  The efficiency of a non-intrusive, built-in kneepad saves time and can prevent knee injuries.

It’s no secret that plumbers and HVAC-R professionals do it all.  That’s why there are different Blaklader pants built for specific work styles and conditions. No matter where you work: inside, outside, in the North or in the South, Blaklader has a pant specifically designed to keep you cool under pressure.

Bantam pant: Blaklader’s Bantam Pant is made from 8 oz. cotton canvas, making it a lighter option for spring and summer. The Bantam pant is perfect for plumbers and HVAC-R professionals working in warmer climates.

Brawny pant: The Brawny is made of a 12 oz. cotton canvas for heightened durability in tougher work conditions.

Heavy Worker pant: This pant isn’t for everyone, but professionals who regularly tear and wear through traditional work pants will benefit from the extra-durable polyester/cotton fabric and added Cordura reinforcements.

All too often, durability and functionality features can appear as add-ons or afterthoughts to traditional work pants.  Blaklader pants were built from the ground up as a beacon of long-lasting functionality. For example, all seams are triple stitched and pockets are sewn with bellows to increase tool-carrying capacity and prevent tear-outs. Since 1959, Blaklader work pants have been continuously engineered to include the following features:

Exterior Utility Pockets
Utility pockets allow constant access to tools, screws and fittings without using a tool belt - even when kneeling. Blaklader engineers cut the pocket corners at a 45-degree angle to make those last few screws easy to grab. The slanted corners also make the pockets easy to tuck in when not in use.  Stitching on the bottom seam of the pocket is raised to make these pockets extra durable and prevent tear-outs at pressure points.

Extra-Long Tool Pocket
Side pockets on traditional work pants are attached at the bottom allowing tools to jab and cut the back of the leg when kneeling. The extended side pocket on Blaklader work pants fits larger wrenches and screwdrivers. The pocket is also disconnected on the bottom, allowing it to swing when kneeling. This technology removes pressure from the leg and allows easy access to tools in the pocket. The disconnected pocket also keeps tools from sliding out unnoticed when sitting or kneeling.

Bellowed Pockets
Pockets on traditional workwear are stitched directly on the bottom and are strained when tools or supplies are added. All pockets on Blaklader work pants utilize raised stitching to strengthen the pocket so tradesmen can easily access tools.  The bellow also prevents tools from puncturing the pocket.

No matter what task plumbers and HVAC-R pros are faced with, Blaklader work pants help them get the job done faster and easier. Blaklader workwear is available across the U.S. at leading hardware and building products retailers. For a complete list, visit www.blakladerusa.com.
