TRUTH: Female breasts are composed of glandular tissue and fat, held in position by the delicate Cooper's Ligament. Any excessive amount of breast movement or bounce, as can and often does happen during exercise, strains these ligaments and can cause them to stretch. The long term consequence is sagging breast tissue.
FEAR number 2: Specific exercises will help your breasts return to their former pre breast feeding shape.
TRUTH: Once the Coopers Ligament in the breasts have stretched, nothing can naturally restore them to their former position. The coopers ligament is not stretched through brest feeding.
FEAR number 3: Small breasts don't need support.
TRUTH: Tests on "A" cupped women found that breast movement ranged up to around 40mm away from the resting place of the body, which can still lead to breast sag.
FEAR number 4: Running always leads to sore and tender breasts.
TRUTH: Inadequate breast support during exercise means excessive breast movement which is the most likely cause of sore and tender breasts after exercise.
FEAR number 5: Your ordinary, everyday bra is good enough to wear during exercising.
TRUTH: Breast movement is significantly reduced when wearing a well fitting sports bra. Unfortunately with an ordinary bra movement is not restricted at all.
