May 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Dave, a San Antonio and Boerne Realtor®  recently completed the requirements for the award of the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation sponsored by the National Association of Realtors® and Texas Association of REALTORS®.  For more than a year, Dave has attended classes to strengthen his knowledge about real estate, and how to market real estate.

Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) is offered through the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR). This designation involves education about ethics, marketing practices, buyer and seller strategies to list and sell properties across Texas. Visit http://www.realtor.org/designations-and-certifications/gri-designation/ for more information regarding earning this designation. Visit http://sabor.com to learn about the courses available through the San Antonio Board of Realtors®.

Dave has completed over 8,000 buyer and seller real estate transactions, and has over 20 years experience with title, mortgage lending, home inspection, home building, commercial property management, land acquisition and development, single family homes, condos, 1031(k) exchanges, trust real estate sales, short sales, and town home real estate.

The completion of this designation increases Dave's ability to assist home buyers, sellers, renters, and landlords with the challenge of marketing a property, or locating a property in a down economy or a buyers market.  Given 95% of all homes are sold using a home mortgage Dave brings the experience of approving over 12,000 mortgages to help guide everyone through the transaction of closing title on property.

Course highlights include ethics, listing property, staging property, marketing, buyer representation, property inspection, technology and the Internet.

What is the Value of a GRI Designation?

Buying property is a complex and stressful task. In fact, it's often the biggest single investment you will make in your lifetime. At the same time, real estate transactions have become increasingly complicated.

New technology, laws, procedures and the increasing sophistication of buyers and sellers requires real estate practitioners to perform at an ever-increasing level of professionalism.

GRI designees:

•   Have pursued a course of study that represents the minimum common body of knowledge for progressive real estate professionals.
•   Have developed a solid foundation of knowledge and skills to navigate the current real estate climate—no matter what its condition.
•   Are recognized nationally.
•   Act with professionalism and are committed to serving their clients and customers with the highest ethical standards.

Here’s what a few people are saying about GRI:

"The GRI designation is an indication of commitment to your industry and to your clients. It is a mark of distinction that sets you apart and gives a clear signal that you are willing to make the effort to become the best in your industry."
—Ashley Trautner, CRS, GRI; Frankfort, KY

"I have nine designations and am exceptionally proud of the GRI. Rather than a 1 or 2 day course it is a true 90-hour learning experience with diverse instructors. I took GRI 1 15 years ago and this spring decided to finish. Waiting so long was foolish—this course is so important to an agent's career it should be completed within 3 years at the most. Just do it!"

—Dan Desmond, ABR, e-PRO, GRI, SFR, SRES; Forked River, NJ
"When you take the REALTOR oath, one of the things you are attesting to is your promise to provide the best services available to your customers/clients. Part of that process involves staying educated about current changes in the real estate industry. The GRI program is one of the best tools all REALTORS, whether new or seasoned, have at their fingertips."

—Connie Moore Corey, ABR, CRS, GRI; Greenville, NC
"I received my GRI several years ago! … The GRI course material is continuously updated and represents the greatest opportunity for a real estate agent to gain an advantage in this fast-changing market. Every agent should consider this program part of their basic learning and continuing education program!"
—James Webb, GRI; Pigeon Forge, TN

"When I attended my first GRI course, I had been a successful agent for eight years. No matter … I learned so much to "sharpen my saw" as Stephen Covey says. And I met so many other agents with whom I have maintained long-term relationships and traded many referrals. It is a game changer and a deal maker experience."
—Sharon Keating, ABR, CRS, GRI, SRES; Jefferson City, MO

Dave's designation makes him better qualified to explain the many options available to Texans for positioning, staging, marketing and locating property.
