ROSEVILLE, Minn. – May 1, 2012 – AbleNet announced today that it is giving away its nearly $50 SoundingBoard app for free on iTunes for a limited time to help schools and families better use popular Apple iDevices for individuals with disabilities. Introduced in 2010, SoundingBoard was one of the first communication apps in the marketplace to offer switch scanning. SoundingBoard utilizes AbleNet’s easy-tech approach to transform the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch into a powerful communication tool for children and adults who have difficulty speaking. SoundingBoard allows a user to easily create custom communication boards with up to 9 message locations and is switch accessible when used with the Blue2 Bluetooth® switch.
“Apple technology like iPads and iPods are becoming ever present in schools and homes and AbleNet is dedicated to keeping these consumer electronic tools accessible and valuable for children and adults with special needs,” said Adam Wing, Vice President of Global Business. “SoundingBoard provides a highly accessible set of communication tools for individuals with disabilities and we are excited to provide this app for free.”
SoundingBoard is exclusively available through Apple’s iTunes. To learn more about SoundingBoard or to download for free, visit http://itunes.apple.com/
