April 24, 2012 - PRLog -- CHESTER’s Forum Shopping Centre has reported a significant increase in shopper numbers over the Easter fortnight with footfall figures registering just short of a ten per cent rise in visitors.

Mr Lawrence Allen, manager of the Northgate retail centre said the boost in activity was even more remarkable coming after the first quarter of the year, during which time visitor numbers had only been half a per cent lower than the previous year.

“Whether this new data is reflective of a growing mood of optimism is too early to say, but we felt the centre had a buzz about it despite the fact that we are still working on a replacement for TJ Hughes,” said Mr Allen.

“It makes one wonder what the figures would have been like had we had a full house. However, our tenants have no complaints about the current level of trade and I am sure they would have welcomed our bumper Easter numbers.

“Further good news from the Forum includes the fact that our newest tenant, Blackstocks, the fish and chip shop is proving very popular and is doing well. Also, our Somerfields / Co-operative supermarket is currently investing in the replacement of their air conditioning system which will be welcome news for customers as we move towards the summer months.”
