DeSales University '09 graduates, Stephen Thompson, 25, of Robbinsville, NJ and Andrew Marshall, 26, of Vestal, NY, started their business while juggling college educations and commitments to the University's men's soccer team in 2006.
The streetwear line has been worn by the likes of Mac Miller’s DJ Clockwork, singer/songwriter Blackbear, Mod Sun, Perrion, The Ready Set, and Roble Ali of Bravo’s Chef Roble & Co. Pyknic has also been featured in “The Source” Magazine and the duo was named to Bloomberg Businessweek’

Marshall and Thompson, who go by the pseudo-names "The Chef" and "The Butcher", have created the lifestyle brand as an outlet for their culture of food, sport, friends, and music.
