NetCom Learning presents Andury Fiol with the January Sarder Scholarship Award

March 26, 2012 - PRLog -- NetCom Learning announced today the winner of the Sarder Scholarship for IT professionals. The $2,500 scholarship was awarded to Andury Fiol, who is interested in returning to the technology field after arriving in the United States from Cuba.

Fiol, who has a bachelor's degree in Engineering of Electronics and Computer Sciences from Cuba, was a computer and electronics teacher in Cuba. After arriving in the United States, he was limited in his pursuit of an IT career because he lacked the proper certifications. The scholarship will help him get the right education for the jobs he wants in the U.S.

The scholarship was created as a way to give back to the community and further Sarder's mission to foster an environment of lifelong learning. Each month NetCom Learning awards a different student the scholarship.

Fiol has a family to support, thus he has taken jobs not related to his work experience but remains committed to getting the IT certifications (http://www.netcomlearning.com/certifications/) he needs in order to get a job in the IT industry.

"This scholarship will enable me to return to the IT field where I am highly productive, re-enter the field in which I have extensive experience, which will result in a more active social contribution. Working in a place where I can not display all my knowledge, I feel a deep state of frustration. This scholarship will be a positive first step in America for me and positively increase the living conditions of my family and those around me," Fiol said.
