Local Jonesboro Newspaper Features EMG-SME in Full Page Article of the Business Section

March 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Jonesboro Sun, the only local distributed newspaper in Jonesboro, AR, recently featured EMG-SME in a full page article.  It was included in the Business Section of The Jonesboro Sun on February 12, 2012.  The story was written by Curt Hodges.  Photos were taken by Saundra Sovich, and the design editor was Chris Swindle.  The article was titled “Mechanical Masters- Area company specializes in machinery, robotics, more….. “

The article distinguished Efficiency Manufacturing Group (EMG) and its sister company Specialty Machinery & Equipment (SME) as a local business serving with eighteen years of experience.  It described the company as helping manufacturing become more efficient through specialty engineering, and automation.

The article was a full page piece that listed some examples of EMG-SME’s work and focused on a current job for a local company.  It explained EMG-SME’s current work for the local business as a robotic system for an area industry to palletize automotive equipment for shipping.  Basically the system included boxes in which people handled weighing fifty pounds that can now be replaced by the robotic system, which also eliminates the possibility of injuries that people can suffer from repetitive work.

Photos that were published in the article were two large size pictures and one small picture.  The large pictures featured David Phillips, a machine builder at EMG-SME, installing a stack light on the automatic palletizing system.  The other large picture showed Plant manager, Skipper Rose in a full picture of the automatic palletizing system. The small picture was also of Rose checking electrical components in the system.  
            
The Jonesboro Sun overviewed EMG-SME as a company willing to work with companies on almost any problem, such as innovative designs for material handling, bar-code scanning, pick-and-place systems such as the automatic palletizing system, and many other kinds of automation and robotics.  Curt Hodges, the writer for the story, quoted owner and President, Chris Childers with “I like to think that we are a small company that do big things”.  “Anyone who needs a solution to a manufacturing problem is a potential customer”.  He further quoted Mr. Childers “The only thing that we have is innovation.  I consider us to be solution providers.  Of the things we do, 80 to 85% is custom”.
