Co-Founder of Autumn Leaves, Jane Anderson, Named D Magazine’s 'Excellence in Nursing' Finalist

Feb. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- (IRVING, Texas) – Last week, D Magazine held its inaugural Excellence in Nursing awards. Among its 20 categories, Autumn Leaves co-founder Jane Anderson was recognized as a finalist in the ‘Long-Term Care’ category. Dallas-based Autumn Leaves is one of the nation’s leading providers of memory care assisted living communities, which is an exclusive focus on Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Joining Anderson in the running was finalist Jennifer Goen-Runnels, nursing services director of Christian Care Centers, Inc. The winner of the division was Nancy Stretch, nurse practitioner at the Family Medical Center at North Garland.

“I was so honored to be considered for this award and thank D Magazine for the distinction,” said Anderson. “I’ve been in this profession for more than 30 years, but caregiving and nursing is my life. To be honored for doing anything I love is very humbling. The ones who deserve the awards are the courageous men and women who battle Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia every day.”

Prior to co-founding Constant Care Family Management, the oversight and management company for Autumn Leaves more than 10 years ago, Jane was regional director at Alterra Health Corporation and was instrumental in establishing their memory care division. Jane holds a bachelor of science in nursing from Michigan State University and nursing certifications in several areas including an OCN® (Oncology Nursing Certification) and a hematology certification from the University of Michigan, as well as certifications in medical law and HIV issues from Wayne State University.
