Feb. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Recently, Shop4Books has added yet another new category in which to find the books you need. This new category is all about the military and aviation. Even though this subject is not one of the most familiar categories provided by online bookshops, we nonetheless felt that books on military and aviation would favourably augment our existing history category in what is fast becoming an extremely diverse category list.

This sub-category offers up an array of books on the military and aviation. Military aircraft is vital for countries at war and investing in different types of aircraft is imperative, as each type as its own particular role to play and each type is as essential as the next. Military aircraft can range from fighter planes, bombers and tankers to observation balloons.

It would be difficult to go to war today without the use of military aircraft. Of course, no country can go to war armed with only one type of aircraft. Every nation must invest in different kinds of aircraft ranging from fighter aircraft, bombers and tankers to observation balloons. Each of the different kinds of planes has a separate role to play. And each of these roles is as essential as the next.

Military and aviation equipment is essential for all forces for use on land, sea or in the air. Whether a member of the armed forces or civilian interested in books on aviation or the military in general, Shop4Books can offer a wide selection of books to suit your purpose.

Our books on military and aviation cover such topics as the airfields of Cambridgeshire and Suffolk during the second world war. Presented in an illustrated format these books offer an account of both county's airfields during this time, the planes and the pilots who flew them and the local civilians who worked alongside them.

There are many books on aviation which refer to the personal experiences of airmen during the wars. One of these is Wing Commander ‘Sammy’ Sampson, who in co-operation with aviation historian Norman Franks, has written a graphic account of his three years flying Spitfires on offensive operations over France.

He has covered in detail his period commanding the Free French Wing, of which little has been recorded in Britain. His story is told with pace, spice and honesty, and his recollections of people and events provide a refreshing insight into the life of a wartime fighter pilot who previously played rugby for Scotland.

To fight wars on land armies would need tanks. Military books such as the French Tanks of World War I examines the emergence of the first modern tank, the Renault FT. It is a little known fact that France fielded more tanks in World War I than any other army. However France's early tanks suffered from poor mobility and armour compared to their contemporaries.

The Renault FT pioneered the modern tank design with armament in a revolutionary central turret and the engine in the rear. More importantly the Renault was designed to be cheap and easy to manufacture. This book helps you discover the history of the early French armour developments and their triumphant new tank design, which helped to turn the tide of war in favour of the Allies.

Since it's invention during World War I, to break the grim deadlock of the Western Front trenches, tanks have gone on to revolutionise warfare. The Tank Spotter's Guide is a unique hardback that profiles 40 of history's premiere armoured vehicles.

The battle to win wars happened on the sea too. Military books all about Warships Inside Out comes fully illustrated with over 300 detailed artworks and photographs in full colour. This book is a comprehensive study of the key warships built since the nineteenth century. Arranged chronologically, each warship has a cutaway artwork labelled with key items of interest, and accompanying photographs showing both the ship’s interior and exterior in detail.

With detailed specifications for each vessel, all the major warships up to the present day are featured, including the Bismarck, the German U-boat, the Ark Royal and the Nimitz-class, making Warships Inside Out an essential reference guide for modellers, military historians and naval enthusiasts.
